So, this week we ran place to place, trying to visit our baptismal date people as much as possible. We really need to work on getting our people to Church; that's one of, if not the, most important thing. So we said hi as much as possible, talked with them, and reminded them all week, making sure they would be able to come. We were rewarded with a staggering 7 investigators showing up, which is a lot for Mc'Carthy II. So, it was nice.
After Church, we went to Auntie Dorris' place for FM. She's doing well; she has a strong testimony. The only problem is that she's finding it hard to leave her old church; she really loves the people there, and has a hard time accepting why she needs to go to Christ's Church. I think she understands, but doesn't want to. What makes it really hard is that she's the Primary President of her church, and they have a play/program thing at the end of this month (HALLOWEEN!) that she has to help them prepare for. However, we've come up with a plan with her to help wean her off her old church, and will eventually be able to attend full-time; till then, she's promised to come to sacrament meeting and to as much of the classes as possible.
We recently got another investigator to have us meet his family, and now his daughters and his wife are making plans to come; two of them came this week, and the wife will come next (she can't read or speak English, so she has to take the English Learners class next week). The guy has a lot of questions and really likes searching the scriptures. Even tho some questions are those useless there's-really-no-point-to-what-you-just-asked questions, most are actually quite nice and show a sincere interest in how things work. We also got one guy - Emmanuel Agezo - to finally come to Church. He had been promising to come for the past 4 weeks and never did, so we were going to have to drop him. We didn't want to though because the guy is sweet; he has a deep love for God, and really enjoys learning about Him, and really likes the Gospel of Christ. Thankfully, he finally came this week, so he's progressing now, and we can keep him. Even better was that he kept asking really great questions in class, and the ward members really loved having him there - and they told him, too. He said he really loved Church and can't wait to come back next week. We're meeting him Tuesday, so he should be able to finally make his baptismal date (he'd had one for 6 weeks now, but he never came to Church, so we had to keep pushing it back, and then finally remove it altogether until he did come).
That's about it. It was so busy and hurried this week that I don't remember much else other than Sunday, since that was the main focus for us all this week.
I do need to mention that, for some reason, I'm having terrible luck with the mailing system. So far, no one has gotten anything that I've sent from out here, so I have no idea how I'm going to respond to people. I'll work on some kinda system or something, but until then, just know that I thank those of you who have written – Please, please know that they're a great help, and I really enjoy them! I'll try to respond as soon as possible,I'll figure something out, but it may take a while. Sorry about that.
Also, of note, I've updated my Picasa Web Albums with the exact locations of my pictures (I'm a tech-loving perfectionist like that). So now, you can see exactly where all my stuff is going on. I'll try to take more pictures and put them up when I can (only the Vodafone cafe has fast enough internet to do that, and we only go there every once in a while). Anyway, I found it fun being able to zoom in and see exactly what roads I'm taking and whatnot. The rest of you can enjoy what you will; haha.
Hope you all enjoyed General Conference; we won't get it out here until Nov 7, and even then, the Church can only show one session, so we'll have to wait and read it when the Liahona comes out with it.
This Gospel is true! Take care, and God bless!
PS: Transfers are this week. Hopefully I'll get to stay, but I might be moved. E. Zadi is also up for transfer - he's been here for 7 1/2 months. So I'll let you all know next week what's up, if anything.
