Monday, August 1, 2011 "The Dawning"

Title means nothing, other than transfers are Wednesday. I'll let you know what happens next week.

So, this one's gonna be short. I'm working on Picasa and letters (I'm terrible at writing, as you all know, outside of this Blog). This week was an interesting one. We had a LOT of failed appointments; and yet, in the end, we didn't really struggle all that much. We taught ~5 lessons each day, give or take. They were just all in the evening, I think, which is why it made the day seem so long.

Elder Berry gave a great instruction at District Meeting about being a successful missionary. He covered how we're suppose to use our tools to help people understand the Gospel to help them feel the Spirit to help them be baptized and press forward. It was a nice 3-part instruction that linked together well. Pres. Smith always talked about those 3 things (tools, understanding, Spirit) so it was kinda déjà vu, almost like Pres. Smith was back talking again; haha.

We unfortunately couldn't have a baptism, as the candidates didn't come to Church last Sunday;  don't what's going to happen with them as they aren't really keeping commitments anymore, so I don't think they're ready just yet.

What's crazy is that Elder Bills is going home tomorrow! Remember him? My first District Leader. I came when he hit his one year mark. He had to go home one transfer early because in September, we're getting over 20 greenies, so Pres. asked him to leave early. Helps him with school anyway. It's crazy that he's heading home; I don't feel like I've been here long enough for him to be leaving. Haha.

In other news, Margaret Yeboah came on Sunday. She's 18, and her father is inactive (remember the guy I met a few weeks back?). Well, she really likes the Gospel, and she's wanting to learn, hopefully she will be baptized this month and that she can help her father return to activity. What seems like will happen, though, is she and her siblings will all be baptized (she's the oldest), and the parents will follow sometime later.

Anyway, that's about it. Not a whole lot to report. OH! We did get 9 at Sacrament! It was great. We still need to meet them to see how things went. Kwami Martinson came with his son, who really liked it (he's 11) and found that some of his friends are members! I just hope that some of the other siblings will come as well. Kwami has reading problems, so we can't baptize him unless he has someone in his family to read to him and help him. Might take some time; pray for them all!

I know this Gospel is True! Read the Book of Mormon! It will help you in your life. Read from it each day. You will have greater peace and happiness if you do so. That is a promise.

I love you all! Take care!
