Monday, September 12, 2011 "It's a Boy! Again!"

So, I'm training again! We had Trainer's Council last week, and they introduced a new training program. It's almost like a PMG [Preach My Gospel] addition for trainers and new missionaries. It's got a whole 12-week study program, and all these guidelines and stuff, and is really amazing. I'm truly grateful to be able to help bring this into the mission; it's a beautiful program, and clearly inspired. One thing that does worry me though is that we're getting portable DVD players. We watch The District or The District 2, which has instructional videos for missionaries on it. It's part of the new study program. It worries me, because it's SO easy for that to destroy the mission. They're really putting a lot of trust in missionaries now, and I hope that we're all able to honor that trust. As Sis. Judd said, quoting Pres. Monson: "The power to lead is the power to mislead. The power to mislead is the power to destroy." It's truly an amazing thing.

I have more to share, but my time is up. I do apologize. We had problems with the cafe. So, this week is short. I brought paper to write people! But it's not the normal cafe, so I couldn't; next week. .

I know The Book of Mormon is true. Read it! If any of you are questioning your beliefs, if any of you are struggling with the Gospel, if any of you are having doubts, then read the Book of Mormon. It will break through the darkness that this miserable and wicked world presses into our lives and will shine forth a light that no one will be able to dim. It truly is as Mormon said,

"Yea, we see that whosoever will may lay hold upon the word of God, which is quick and powerful, which shall divide asunder all the cunning and the snares and the wiles of the devil, and lead the man of Christ in a strait and narrow course across that everlasting gulf of misery which is prepared to engulf the wicked— And land their souls, yea, their immortal souls, at the right hand of God in the kingdom of heaven, to sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and with Jacob, and with all our holy fathers, to go no more out" (Hel. 3:29-30).

The only way that anyone in this life will lead you astray is if you let them. If you are questioning your testimony, your beliefs, the Church, the leaders, or anything at all, then you need to read and pray. Question your doubts for a change; ask yourself why you would listen to such nonsense. For those of you who are not in such a position, continue to read and pray! Do not let yourself be caught defenseless; keep yourself ever-closer to God. Read the Book of Mormon.

I love you all! Take care, and God bless!
