So this is gonna be short. And I do mean, very short. Basically, we had to clean the apartment to a sparkling degree today; it was one of the worst apartments in the mission, apparently, last week. So Elder Janson and I scrubbed the walls all day, and cleaned it up all nice and perdy-like. We also cleaned the kitchen, and I organized the materials and stuff, and then helped Elder Orok clean the bathroom small. It took a long time, especially since we had to hand-wash first, and only had cheapo Ghana cleaning supplies, but it got done.
Transfers will be next week, so it should be interesting. A lot of people here in Laterbiokorshie District have been here for quite a while, so it should be changing up very soon. But alas, we shall see.
We should be baptizing two people next week on the 19 - Ophelia Nortey and Luis Owusu. Ophelia is a friend of Entity Quartey, who is the daughter of the Jamestown Branch President, yet they live here in Korle-Bu (complicated; don't worry about it). Entity left on a mission last Friday or so, but was able to refer us to her friend (at our request; haha) and bring her to Church the last week before she left. Ophelia didn't have a church, so she never really attended, but she really loves the Church and is progressing nicely, so she should be baptized no problem (give or take, of course).
Luis has been searching all his life for the right church to join, as he has a fear that he will pick one, and at Judgment Day God will tell him he picked wrong. Kinda a harsh but very true reality. Luckily, we were able to meet with him. Apparently, he investigated the Church before, but he never read the Book of Mormon. We got him to read it, and he now has a testimony of it and will be baptized! It's great. He says he knows the Holy Ghost has told him the Book of Mormon is true, and as such the promises in the Book of Mormon (Like Mosiah 2:41) are true. It's a wonderful thing, to see such peace come over someone, and for them to finally answer their life-long question.
It is my firm testimony that the Book of Mormon is truly the keystone of our religion. It is the most correct book on earth, and will bring us closer to God by abiding by it's precepts than any other book on earth. I ask all of you, especially those of you who are saddened of heart, who are heavy-laden, or who just simply don't know why they should care anymore; I ask of you all, to read the Book of Mormon. Read it! It will bless you, more than anything else in this world can do! I know it is the word of God, and I know that it will bless you and help you, and bring you more joy in your life, no matter what the problem is. Don't have a copy? Ask for one. Or, read it online! Scriptures.lds.org has it. Just start at the beginning, and start reading. Or pick a random place and start reading; it really doesn't matter (though I do suggest the prior to the latter). Just read it, and then pray. Ask God if it is True, and ask Him to help you find joy through applying what you read. It will bless you, I promise you.
This Gospel is True. It is the key to our happiness and peace in this life, and the pathway to eternal joy and never-ending exaltation in the next. Learn of it, and then live it, and see if it doesn't bless you more than you have ever been before.
This Gospel is True! This Work is Great! I love you all!
