September 26, 2011 "Short and Sweet"

So, this week went well. Margaret got confirmed! It was great; she was able to come just before Sacrament closed, so we were able to confirm her. I was able to do that, which is always a neat experience. Sadly though, her parents are shipping her off to boarding school, so she wont be able to attend Church for 4 months or so. Hopefully, though, she'll be allowed to leave campus for Church; it's rare, but not impossible. We shall see.

As for the rest of the week, it went well, as I said. We've been working on getting people to start reading the Book of Mormon from the beginning, 5 verses a day.  So far, it's having wonderful results. The way they react to what we're teaching is really changing. It's an amazing experience. One brother, Marvin, read all the way to 1 Nephi 8! He really liked the vision of the tree of life. Another brother, Eric, wants us to meet him every day. We've been going through the lessons steadily, and he really loves the Book of Mormon. And he prays so beautifully! Simple request: "Please help us know if the Book of Mormon is true, that we may follow its teachings." Every time we close, he prays for that! It's wonderful. Sadly, he couldn't come to Church this week as his sister was in an accident Saturday night and had to be rushed to the hospital for loss of blood. He had to help donate some, and will hopefully be able to get more from the blood bank; they're short on blood all the time.

That's about it for now. I want to write some letters to people that are long over due. It's been really hectic, and I am, once again, terrible with writing. We also have splits tonight, so we have to end early.

If you haven't already, start reading the Book of Mormon from the beginning. Read 5 verses a day, at least. That's not even 5 minutes. Honestly, that's hardly even 2. Prove the Lord, and see if,as you read, you will not be "filled with the Spirit of the Lord" (1 Nephi 1:12). I know that the Book of Mormon is true.

I love you all! Take care!
