Monday, May 16, 2011 "Emergency Transfers: To Teshie!"

So! I didn't get transferred on Wednesday. They White-Washed Korle-Bu I [meaning they brought in all new missionaries, didn't leave either one of them there]  and brought in two new people: Elder Freeman (Obibini from Utah) and Elder Yeboah (from Ghana, used to be serving in Co'Deviour). I had to show them around their area, which I've been to once. I then went on splits the first part of Thursday to show Elder Freeman some of the members that I could remember; it turned out to be more successful than I had thought it would be. Friday was normal, and then... Saturday!

Saturday, we went to the chapel early morning to help in the General Cleaning that no one showed up to. We then came back to the apartment, it started raining, so we waited for small before heading out. I then got a call from Pres. Smith. He said "I'm having to do emergency transfers today and it involves you." Fun Stuff!

So, yea. I got emergency transferred to Teshie. I had to pack within an hour, after which the Office Elders picked me up and took me to the mission home, and then the AP's took me to Teshie I. I'm now with Elder Malley, who is Elder Nembaware's MTC companion, which is cool. He's an obroni from Colorado Springs, and really tall; haha. I'm the DL here, and they proceeded to White Wash Teshie II on Monday, being today. Elder Chambers and Elder Kanu just barely got here; more about them next week.

The District needs some work.  The Area Book hasn't been touched in either area for over a month, their dates for this and next week haven't come to Church enough times and others still aren't properly married and thus cohabitating. To top it off, the apartment is a disaster zone and needs a Haz-Mat team to come. OH! And they finished the gas for cooking last week and have yet to replace it. Fun!

So, yea. That's my week. I'm basically having to scrap the District and start off fresh. Yay! But, Pres. did tell Elder Malley today that he's sent me here because he knows perfectly that I do my very best to be exactly obedient, so he can trust me to keep everything in order. So, I was happy to hear that. He also said that this causes most missionaries to get angry with me, but that is their problem and he hopes Elder Malley doesn't have this problem. Haha; more fun!

Luckily, Elder Malley is a great guy, and is really willing to work hard and has the desire to do what is necessary. Pres. has asked me to "Ride the Herd," meaning I have to drive these people with greater obedience than they've ever had before, because they have to be exact if they want to win back these wards.[the previous missionaries and district leader got into trouble for "disobedience" and were turned into the mission president by the ward leaders] And yes, that's "wards;" Teshie I has Teshi 1st Ward, and Teshi II and III has Teshie 2nd Ward (Teshie III is the Sisters in my District).

ANYWAYS, I'm a little bamboozled right now, and can't quite remember what happened before. I'm just glad that last two transfers my First Born in the wilderness has been a wonderful companion, and I know that Korle-Bu II is being left in good hands. Who knows? Maybe he'll be made DL over there very soon; haha.

Regardless, I know that it is exact obedience that gives us the rewards of heaven. We are all accountable for what we do; just as the hymn says, "holy angels Watch your actions night and day, And they keep a faithful record Of the good and bad you say" (Dearest Children, God Is Near You, Hymns # 96). May we all follow the council then given: "Cherish virtue! Cherish virtue! God will bless the pure in heart."

Only when we do everything we are asked to do - everything, with exactness - does God bless us with all that we need and ask for.

I know these things are True. I love this Work, and I will continue to do my best to do all that is asked of me. Read the Book of Mormon! Ponder what it means to you in your heart! Pray and ask God, in the name of Jesus Christ, if it is True! You will gain a testimony of its Truth and Divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost. Of this I testify.

I love you all! Take care, and God bless!
