So, I'm getting another son! I've been called to train another missionary. This time, however, I'll be opening a new area. Well, rather, re-opening an area that was closed in the past due to various circumstances. I've been told that it's going to be a challenge getting it back up and running - wasn't told why, nor did I ask - and it'll be really fun with a new missionary, but things should go fine. It's called Kaneshie, and it's got one of the biggest markets in Accra in it. It's also where the Mc'Carthy Hills Stake Center is; remember that place? That was my first area! I'm very close to Mc'Carthy (relatively) so it should be fun.
Fun side-note thing we got today:
"Dear Elders and Sisters:
Several days ago the Area Presidency notified me of the possibility of an additional 17 missionaries coming to the Ghana Accra Mission this week. These 17 will be in addition to the 12 new missionaries already scheduled to arrive. I responded to their request by telling them that while 29 new missionaries at one time would certainly be a challenge, we had strong and capable missionaries that could respond to such a challenge. The 17 additional missionaries are presently in the Ghana MTC and are scheduled to travel to Nigeria, but due to serious transportation and safety issues brought about by a nationwide strike, they may not be able to enter the country and begin their missions as previously planned.
Because we don't presently have the areas and beds to accommodate so many additional missionaries in the usual way, many of us will be called upon to sacrifice. Many of you could be asked to train new missionaries when you are still in the training process yourselves. Others will be asked to share apartments, investigators, etc. While the coming of these additional missionaries may appear to be a burden, it can also be a great blessing. Seventeen additional missionaries will allow us to find, teach, and invite many more people to receive the restored gospel. I ask each of you to prepare yourselves and be willing to respond to this request if it comes." --Pres. Judd
That should make things very interesting. I'm excited to see what happens!
Once again, time is short. I had to prepare everything to leave Wednesday, so I had to do a lot of washing. As such time is short. Know that I love all of you! Next week should be a better letter; haha.
Please read the Book of Mormon, every day. Few other ways can routinely make you a better person more than "feasting upon the word of Christ" (2 Nephi 31:20). I get such strength from it. I know it is the word of Christ. I promise each and every one of you, member of the Church or not, that if you read from the Book of Mormon every day, even if just small, you will feel God's love and strength more abundantly in your life.
I know these things are True. This is the Lord's Work.
I love you all! 'Till next week!
